Motree bred Squami (Squamosa x White Yard) saluted first up at Geelong today much to the joy of his loyal owners dubbed the Squami Army.

A canny 20k purchase selected by Ashleigh Dowley for First Light Racing at the 2019 Tasmanian Magic Millions sale he is now joins half brothers White Hawk and White Cliff as winning son of  Motree foundation mare White Yard.

Trainer Simon Zahra revealed post race he went into the race quietly confident off the back of an impressive jump out a fortnight ago whilst acknowledging the importance of the win given the rich Vobis Gold bonus on offer for todays victory on his final day as a 2yo.

It was a well deserved payday for the team at First Light Racing who Zahra credited for the patient handling of the horse with the Squami Army sure to be hoping the best is still to come.
